FILES INCLUDE:
- TactileTiles_SurfaceSeries_02.sbs (original 4k graph)
- TactileTiles_SurfaceSeries_02_NoiseOptimised.sbs (Optimized 2k graph)
- 5 4k .png maps (Albedo, Normal, Height, AO, Roughness)
The second part of my Surface Series - Tactile Tiles, created in Substance Designer at 4k.
As materials are starting to trend towards higher resolutions in production, being able to author maps at 4k is a good skill to have. Having so much resolution means your materials need a lot of variation and micro detail to be convincing.
My goal with this series is to create highly realistic materials at 4k and provide my graphs which show an insight to my workflow and the steps I take to create the details you see.
The .SBS is framed and commented by segments, and set up in a way that each section of nodes is easy to reuse.
Along side my original 4k graph, I also provide a more optimized 2k graph.
Created in Substance Designer version: 12.4.1 build 6587 commit 94a345ff Release (2023-03-23)
Due to being a self contained package and not aliased - the RTAO nodes do not update themselves to the latest version and show up black.
I have added the SD_V13_Updated_Versions folder which contains the graphs with the AO nodes replaced and working.
If on Substance Designer V13+, use those.
